CARBONDALE, Ill. — After SIU’s disappointing loss to North Dakota and the team’s first two-game losing streak of the season, I asked Nick Hill for his prescription to get the Dawgs back to their winning ways.
“We need to take a deep breath, and get back in with a clear head, and fix the problems that have showed up,” he told me.
Simple, sage advice.
Southern is a talented, well-coached team. It had its weaknesses exposed by the Dakotas the last two weeks. There are some hidden variables we'll discuss.
The Salukis don’t require an overhaul, but they need to make a few clear-eyed adjustments. This excellent coaching staff is on it.
