DJ Williams return status is "week-to-week" following knee injury

CARBONDALE, Ill. — During his weekly press conference on Monday morning, SIU head coach Nick Hill said DJ Williams is "week-to-week" following the knee injury he sustained early in the second quarter at West Florida last Thursday.

Williams had already rushed for 46 yards when he landed awkwardly on his knee during the team's third drive. He went to the locker room, but returned to the field in street clothes for the second half, walking under his own power.

"We’re excited about getting DJ back," Hill said. "When is the question. He’s responded each day and is feeling better."

If Williams cannot play on Thursday night at Samford, Jake Curry will make his sixth-career start for the Salukis.
