Final thoughts ahead of Murray State
MURRAY, Ky. — We’ve heard a lot of talk this week about staying “focused on Murray State,” going “1-0 this week,” and treating “every game like our Super Bowl.”
Good points, to be sure, but as the sun rises on the conference season today, we’re shifting gears to discuss the body of work Southern Illinois will need to make the playoffs, and spoiler, it includes beating Murray State.
Past history shows that the FCS selection committee has little regard for power rankings. The Salukis were No. 15 last year and did not make the field. They are currently No. 18.
So what’s the formula to get to the promised-land of the FCS Playoffs?
