MARION, Ill. — Friday night’s Saluki Football scrimmage at Marion High School was a chance for less-heralded players to showcase their talents, and numerous players took advantage of the opportunity.
A handful of key returnees did not participate so that more reps could go to the underclassmen and transfers. In fact, of the 22 players who started on Friday, only four were regular starters last season.
By NCAA rule, there can only be three, live practices in the spring, and this was SIU’s second. The third and final live practice will take place this coming Friday night at the Spring Game.
