CARBONDALE, Ill. — Saluki Football reported for training camp on Sunday afternoon and practices begin early Monday morning. There are some key questions we can’t wait to see answered during the month of August. A dozen of them, in fact.
Here’s what top-of-mind…
1. How will quarterback DJ Williams bounce back from a partially torn knee ligament?
This is perhaps the most important question heading into the 2026 season. You know the story. Williams hurt the knee in Game 3 at SEMO last year and toughed it out for the remaining nine games, still putting together a brilliant All-American season. How good could he have been at full strength? That’s a question every Saluki fan is eager to find out, but go back and watch the SEMO game for a few hints. For precautionary reasons, Williams didn’t take live reps during spring ball, but he’s ready to let it rip during camp. The good news is that Williams has looked outstanding in summer workouts.
2. How dominant can the linebacker duo of Andrew Behm and Chris Presto be?
