Paul Geelen shows off kicking prowess at SIU Pro Day

CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois kicker/punter Paul Geelen was impressive during SIU’s Pro Day yesterday, displaying power and accuracy in a session for NFL scouts.

The Netherlands native has been self-taught throughout his college career, but recently spent two weeks in Alabama training with a kicking specialist.

Geelen is coming off a season in which he was 15-of-17 on field goals, with his only two misses coming from 51 and 59 yards. He was perfect on PATs, and averaged 41 yards per punt attempt.
