CARBONDALE, Ill. — With the start of training camp just 58 days away, Saluki Football began summer workouts on Thursday morning with conditioning and lifting sessions.

Returning veterans were the first to report last night, and they will be joined by the incoming freshman class when summer school starts on June 8. In addition to strength and conditioning, the team is permitted by the NCAA to hold OTAs (Organized Team Activities) leading up to camp.
"It's always good to get back with the guys and see the new faces," said running back Ed Robinson. "We actually look pretty good. These next 58 days are gonna fly by. I'm just cherishing the time and relationships I have with my teammates, and coming in with an intent to get better every day."
Training camp opens on Monday, July 29, and the Salukis will have 25 practices before the season-opener at West Florida on Thursday, August 27.
